EZ Animal Care

Pet care business, Broward County. A custom site that replaced the previous WordPress build, live on the client's own domain.

  • Rebuilt the whole site in handwritten HTML, CSS and JavaScript, hosted on Vercel
  • Integrated Cal.com scheduling into the page
  • Wrote the client handoff guide and ran several code reviews before launch

Green Grass III

Landscaping and concrete borders, Dade and Broward. An independent redesign concept of the company's Wix site, built in a real WordPress install on my machine.

  • Set up WordPress with Astra, a small child theme and core blocks, no page builder
  • Built eight pages and two articles in the Block Editor, with Yoast titles and descriptions and an estimate form
  • Ran scripted checks, axe scans and Lighthouse locally, then wrote the editor guide and backup routine

Skycam Transport

A freight carrier in North Carolina needed its first website. I built a clear introduction to its services and a direct way to request a quote.

  • Built the site in Vite, React and TypeScript with a serverless quote form
  • Documented a design system so the client can extend it
  • Ran two independent QA passes, including keyboard, focus and color contrast checks

Dog grooming at home, across Duval and St. Johns. A site that introduces the groomer and puts a text message one tap away.

  • Designed and built the site in React with GSAP motion
  • Graded and cropped the client's own photos for the web

ABOUT ME.

I'm Desmond, a web developer based in South Florida. I like taking a page from the first idea through the small details that make it work, then looking after it once it is live. At work I care about clear communication, thoughtful design, and making things easier for the people who use what I build.

Away from the screen I'm a husband and a dad, and my wife and daughter are a big part of my life. I grew up in the Bahamas, so the outdoors is home to me, fishing and camping most of all. I play basketball, enjoy weightlifting, cycling, and I love unwinding with a good game of chess or sudoku.

    Semantic structure, responsive layouts, and clear paths through the content. The page should make sense with the CSS turned off.

    Connect the pieces.

    Booking tools, forms, content workflows, and the steps that follow a click. A site is a system, not a picture.

    Check, then hand it over.

    Links, keyboard navigation, focus states, small screens, a launch checklist, and an editor guide the client can actually use.
